My Mentoring Team

Commander Stephen Kosloski

Commander Stephen M. Kosloski graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Oceanography. Following his sea tours, CDR Kosloski earned his Master of Arts at the U.S. Naval War College in Newport, RI. CDR Kosloski is now the Executive Officer of the NROTC Maryland Consortium. His knowledge and experience working with foreign Navy's makes him a valuable asset to my mentor team. He has experienced the difficulties of working with people from various organizations and cultures in a professional military setting. His knowledge of Naval commissioning programs provides insight into what the U.S. Navy is looking for in future officers.

Dr. Joby Taylor

Dr. Taylor came to Baltimore as a Peaceworker Fellow himself in 1999 and liked the program and the city so much that he has proudly stayed on, becoming program director in 2003. He served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Gabon, Africa (91-93) helping build an elementary school in the village of Seka Seka. Additionally, he has worked construction projects in the U.S. and the Caribbean. Dr. Taylor received his BA in Philosophy, an MA in Religious Studies, and completed his Ph.D. in the Interdisciplinary Language Literacy and Culture program. His experiences as a Peaceworker provide a unique view of working and providing aid to members of varying cultures. This view brings contrasting perspectives and helps to diversify my degree plan and my research.

Dr. Stephen Freeland

Graduating from University of Oxford (1991) with a BA in Zoology, Dr. Freeland continued his education at the University of York and obtained a MS in Computational Biology (1993). He then attended University of Cambridge and earned a Doctorate in Philosophy in Genetics (1998). In 2013 Dr. Freeland took charge of the Interdisciplinary Studies department at University of Maryland, Baltimore County. As my degree adviser, Dr. Freeland has been pivotal in my success in the program so far. His vast knowledge of educational systems and interdisciplinarity helps me to create connections between complex topics and fields of study.
