Google Slides is considered one of the most useful software tools in educational environments. Its simple, uncomplicated interface, fully online nature, the ability to share with team members for constructive collaboration, compatibility with other software, and automatic saving of changes are key features of this tool.
Accessibility and real-time interaction have made this tool a valuable resource for student projects. As you will see in the Lesson Plan section, I used Google Slides to design a group planet-brochure activity. Students collaborated in real time, added text and images, and used the slide structure to organize their research.
Canva:
It can be said that Canva is a more complete version with more design features and a simpler interface compared to Google Slides.
It is used to design presentation spaces and showcase work. Canva’s graphic capabilities and its image editing and cropping tools are among its strengths. Like Google Slides, this software is also offered online and provides a platform for simultaneous collaboration and interaction among group members; however, it can be said that Google Slides performs better at creating a suitable platform for real-time interaction. Personally, I have preferred using this software to design and present my class projects. For example, I used Canva to prepare a final presentation and create flashcards to support learning.
Google Sites:
Google Sites is a useful tool for creating simple websites and digital portfolios without needing advanced technical skills or coding knowledge. Its clear structure makes it easy to organize different kinds of materials, such as text, images, videos, links, documents, and project reflections, in one accessible online space.
One of the strengths of Google Sites is that it works well with other Google tools, such as Google Drive, Google Docs, Google Slides, and Google Forms. This makes it especially helpful in educational settings, where teachers and students often need to collect, present, and share their work. It also allows users to update their content easily and publish their work online.
Personally, I have used Google Sites to design my portfolio and create educational websites. It has helped me organize my learning materials, present my projects in a clear and professional way, and connect different assignments together in one meaningful space.
