Industry Partners
In our state-of-the-art lab we have all the equipment to put our footwear expertise to work. We have a wealth of experience in testing, evaluating and aiding in the development of athletic footwear and running products for many industry partners.
Mechanical tests can inform us about cushioning, energy return and bending footwear properties. To learn how these properties affect running, we measure their running biomechanics (indoor and/or outdoor) and running economy (VO2).
Equipment
Treadmills (all Equipped with Qualisys Motion Capture System, see below)
Treadmetrix Treadmill
Force instrumented treadmill with a vast range of speeds, inclines, and declines (up to 30%).
Bertec Treadmill
Force instrumented treadmill with independent split-belt motion control. Equipped with a short-throw projector to project adjustable virtual stepping stones.
Hill Mill
World steepest running treadmill. Equipped with high traction belt to allow walking and running up to 45 degree (i.e., 100% slopes).
AdjuSST
Adjustable Surface Stiffness Treadmill with two belts.
Overground
Overground Runway
Runway equipped with embedded AMTI force plates, timing gates, and Qualisys Motion Capture System
Overground Walkway with Instrumented Staircase
Walkway equipped with embedded AMTI force plates, Bertec instrumented staircase and Qualisys Motion Capture System
Energetics and biomechanics equipment
Parvo Medics TrueOne 2400
Metabolic cart for measuring indirect calorimetry and oxygen consumption
Moxy Monitor
Moxy is a small, wearable sensor that monitors oxygen levels in the muscles of athletes while they exercise
Qualisys Motion Capture System
Precision 3D motion capture equipment for biomechanics
Delsys Trigno EMG
Wireless electromyography (EMG) sensors to measure muscle activity, allows for integration with motion capture
IMU
Inertial measurement units (Vicon Blue Trident, APDM Opal) that allow for overground gait analysis outside of the lab setting
