Support UMassBRUT: Preserving Our Brutalist Legacy
UMassBRUT is a statewide campaign dedicated to celebrating, conserving, and reimagining the mid-century Brutalist architecture found across the University of Massachusetts campuses. Through public tours, educational programs, exhibitions, and cross-disciplinary collaborations, UMassBRUT inspires appreciation for the history and design of these iconic buildings and advocates for their preservation as a vital climate action strategy.
Retrofitting and reusing concrete buildings is more than an act of preservation, it’s climate action. By safeguarding our Brutalist heritage, we reduce embodied carbon, promote sustainable design, and invigorate these structures with renewed purpose for future generations.
