Nayun Kwon is a Ph.D. student in English at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, specializing in Early Modern literature. Her research focuses on the interplay between early modern drama, history, and politics. As a Gillespie Fellow, Nayun will explore how Shakespearean drama engages with popular resistance and the political power of the people, as well as the relationship between sovereign power and public support.
Edwyn Choi is an English major at Amherst College. As a Gillespie Fellow, he will be studying global Shakespeares and extending work on his senior thesis, which is on pinpointing “Koreanness” in Korean cultural products, particularly in Korean adaptations of Shakespeare.
