The Ron Gillespie Collection is an extraordinary private collection of rare books on loan to the Kinney Center. This collection includes a range of materials from a disbound leaf of the Gutenberg Bible (1454-1455); fragments of Shakespeare's First Folio (1623); complete editions of the Second, Third, and Fourth Folios; and ephemera of performance history including performance copies of plays annotated by Henry Irving as well as production stills from Orson Welles Macbeth (1948).
The library at the Kinney Center for Interdisciplinary Renaissance Studies is home to manuscripts, rare books, and monographs. The strengths of this collection include: botany, agriculture, earth science, theater, classics, and art history.
