Laboratory Facilities

Our laboratory is equipped with state of the art physical and chemical characterization equipment for aerosol research. Major instruments include:

• Dionex ICS-1100 chromatographs with 100 position autosamplers
• Quant'x X-Ray Flourescence Spectrometer for metal speciation on filters
• Spectramax M5 spectrophotometer
• Standalone temperature- and RH- controlled microbalance facilities
• Incubation and biosafety cabinets

Major laboratory resources in our lab include:

• electronics work station for instrument design, repair, and Making activities
• Gloveboxes and fume hoods for custom calibration
• Complete tooling set
• 13 cubic meter smog chamber
• Diesel and gasoline generators
• Access to protected outside space for instrument use

Field Capabilities

We are particularly well equipped for field deployments in both local areas and in locations with limited or no research infrastructure. Among many items, our lab has:
