We strongly encourage students to plan ahead for housing for the next academic year. It might be far from your mind this winter, but Fall 2026 housing selection appointments must be requested between February 16 – March 13.

Appointments will be posted on March 23, and selection will begin on March 25. If you have already been approved for permanent housing accommodations, those will carry over automatically.

Any new housing accommodation requests, with supporting documentation, should be made to Disability Services by Friday, February 20. After this date, we may not have time to review the request in time for newly approved accommodations to be reflected in your housing selection appointment.

The virtual Career Fair connects qualified job candidates with disabilities to inclusive employers. Attendees will be able to network with leading disability-inclusive employers from Work Without Limits Business Network and more!

The career fair will be held on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, 1:30 – 3:30 p.m. EST. A resume is required to register (in pdf format).

The deadline to request ASL Interpreter or CART Reporter for the Career Fair is February 11, 2026.

Disability Services offers several academic scholarships each year, with awards ranging from $300 to $2,000. In Academic Works, there is a packet of three Disability Services scholarships (with one application) open to anyone identifying as having a disability, as well as the Richard W. Venne Endowed Scholarship for students registered with Disability Services.

The application deadline is March 16, 2026.

The Parking Services Scholarship for Accessibility is dedicated to help students who need updated psychoeducational testing, students who self-identify as being neurodivergent but are seeking formal diagnostic testing, or students who suspect they may have an undiagnosed disability. We know testing can be expensive, so we want to make it as accessible as possible. Financials should not be in the way of your diagnosis!

There is no application deadline.

Are you currently managing a chronic illness via telehealth? Your voice matters! A UMass Amherst research team is conducting a 10-minute online survey to gather feedback from young adults (ages 18–25) with chronic illness who received care via a telehealth platform to understand how provider demographics may influence patient interactions.

Participants will be compensated with a $10 gift card. If you are interested in participating or learning more, simply take the survey or email the research team at shershberg@umass.edu.

If you’re feeling stressed going into final exams this semester, and/or are looking for a 1-credit course to round out your Spring 2026 semester course load, consider taking PART.

Developed at the Benson-Henry Institute for Mind Body Medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital, the PART program teaches participants a variety of mind body practices and self-care interventions.

This course is pass/fail and runs for 9 weeks. There are a variety of sessions to choose from to fit into your schedule, including sections just for graduate students.

Join us for the Five College Disability Community Event on February 7, 2026, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. at Furcolo Hall (Rooms 102 and 110) at UMass. This community-building gathering brings together students across the Five College Consortium to make new friends, strengthen connections, and share resources. The event will include a screening of the documentary "Crip Camp" and opportunities for conversation and connection. Zoom link will be added to the event accessibility information document on the day of the event.
