Hi, I'm Sinéad Clancy, a newly graduated Occupational Therapist from West Cork.

I am from Clonakilty in West Cork and I am the youngest daughter of four.

I am interested in anything interesting.......I live within a close approximation to multiple gorgeous beaches sparking my interest in the sport lifesaving and hobby fishing.

I love everything about music from playing the piano to jamming on my ukulele, it provides endless enjoyment. I often go running and I love walking and exploring with my family, friends and dogs.

Adventure is always calling me and this may be why I chose occupational therapy as my career path. I believe occupational therapy is an adventurous career that offers a unique blend of challenges, rewards, and opportunities for growth. Whether working with children, adults, or older adults, occupational therapists can use innovative treatment approaches to help their patients achieve their goals and improve their quality of life. With a variety of work settings and diverse patient populations, occupational therapy provides a constantly changing and exciting career path which really enticed me.

I have recently graduated from University College Cork with a BSc in Occupational Therapy in which I was awarded first class honours.

I have clinical experience in both community and acute adult care, as well as in a psychosocial paediatric setting. I have been awarded supreme in competency areas whilst on clincial placement including Professional Development & Performance Management.

I am very interested in pursuing a career in occupational therapy with a focus on the physical setting in stroke or neurorehabilitation. I find the work in these areas to be challenging and rewarding, and I am passionate about helping patients regain their independence and improve their quality of life. I believe that occupational therapy can make a significant difference in the lives of patients in these settings, and I am excited about the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and use a variety of treatment approaches to achieve positive outcomes.
