University Politehnica of Bucharest
The IEEE EPS Students Branch Chapter for POLITEHNICA Bucharest is a technical sub-unit of the IEEE EPS, formed with the purpose of offering opportunities to network with other students, faculty, and professionals at technical meetings, conferences, contests and social events. Many activities are dedicated to organizing technical trainings for students that desire to be familiarized with modern CAD tools. Our organization offers financial support for the development of student research projects and provides technical support, as well as adequate environment needed for the physical implementation. Another important goal is to establish a connection between the academic and the industrial environment, through online workshops and webinars, in collaboration with some of the biggest companies that currently exist on the market. The SBC gives students from our organization the opportunity to collaborate with other chapters from IEEE, academia and industry, in order to increase the visibility of young researchers (students or PhD students). Each year we contribute to the organizing of the Student Scientific Communication Sessions and some of our staff are enlisted in the evaluation committee. The SBC organized some training activities and workshops for students who desired to participate in the TIE and TIEplus contests and offered support by organizing training sessions for the ANSYS software suite, Altium Designer and Autodesk Inventor. Some of our students qualified for the final stages of the competition, getting good results. We were part of the IEEE EPS Student Chapters Support Committee for SIITME Conference and took part in some other events (Networking IEEE- IMAPS Student Branch Chapters Meeting) where we had the opportunity to present our vision and future projects. All members of our SBC were present at the SIITME conference with research papers, posters and oral presentations.

Technical University of Cluj-Napoca
The EPS Student Branch Chapter at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca strives to provide students with opportunities to learn, collaborate, and engage in activities related to electronic packaging technology, a field critical to the design, manufacturing, and reliability of electronic devices and systems. A major focus is participation in the presentation of original research with consistently excellent results. The SBC Board has initiated training sessions and workshops tailored for students interested in participating in the TIE and TIEplus competitions. As a result of these efforts, some of our students have successfully reached the final rounds of the competitions and achieved remarkable results.

“Lucian Blaga” University of Sibiu
The Faculty of Engineering at the Lucian Blaga University has always offered its students a great environment by keeping the curriculum adapted to the technological progress and maintaining amazing partnerships with the industrial sector, thus offering excellent practice opportunities and promoting a balanced relation between fundamental knowledge and practical skills.
A couple of years ago, enthusiastic students from the electronics department joined IEEE and decided to form the EPS student branch chapter. Members of the Sibiu branch intend to continue their development in the field though projects, collaborations, demonstrations, as well as participating to conferences, competitions and other events. They have been actively involved in the preparations of the first SBC Summit, an event held alongside the IEEE ESTC Conference, and are helping with organizing other student-centered events held in Sibiu, such as the Interconnected Techniques in Electronics (TIE) with its most numerous sections than ever before, the ULBS Hardware and Software Engineering contest (HSE) and the 30th International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME), along which the current 3rd Summit of IEEE EPS & NTC Student Branch Chapters takes place.

IEEE Nanotechnology
Student Branch Chapter
National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest, Romania
Our student branch chapter, the Nanotechnology Student Branch Chapter (NTC SBC) at the National University of Science and Technology POLITEHNICA Bucharest, is part of the IEEE Nanotechnology Council technical organization. Founded in April 2020, its aim is to create synergies between students, members of the Nanotechnology Students Chapter, and students from other branches, both nationally and internationally.
Recently, our members have been heavily involved in organizing and promoting the chapter and the Romanian IEEE community, as well as engaging in scientific research with significant impacts on current and future technology. Notable recent events organized with contributions from NTC SBC members include the second edition of the IEEE EPS&NTC Student Branch Chapters Summit, Polifest 2024 - Educational Festival - open day for current students and future generations (https:// polifest.upb.ro/) and 1st Balkan Summit of the IEEE Student Branches & EPS Student Branch Chapters organized by the IEEE EPS Student Branch Chapter within University of Ruse.
Regarding scientific research, our team is deeply involved in the development and investigation of supercapacitors, in the research of chiplets technology, but also in the research of dye sensitized solar cells. Scientific papers have been and will be presented at the 47th International Spring Seminar on Electronics Technology (ISSE 2024) and the 10th IEEE Electronics System-Integration Technology Conference (IEEE ESTC 2024) and the 30th IEEE International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME 2024) based on these important topics scope. Additionally, our vice-chair, Anda JÂJÂIE, and one of our treasurers, Andreea CHIOREANU, participated in the spring of 2024 in the Interconnected Techniques in Electronics (TIE) contest, where they obtained remarkable results.
In all the events they attended, NTC SBC members aimed to create synergies with both local and international communities.

The activities of the chapter are strongly connected to both the Nanotechnology Council (NTC) and the Electronics Packaging Society (EPS). The NTC-related activities include the development of localized surface plasmon resonance (LSPR) based measurement platforms for label-free biosensing applications (including microfluidic systems), and the fabrication and optimization of nanomaterial-based plasmonic sensing elements. In our EPS-related research we focus on improving the sustainability of traditional packaging processes, such as investigating novel biodegradable printed circuit board materials for greener, more sustainable electronics.

Politehnica University Timișoara
Our Student Branch Chapter provides IEEE Student members with a networking opportunity to meet and learn from fellow students, faculty members, and professionals in the field to share their interests, future professions and ideas. The number of students joining our SBC has been increasing steadily in the last year.
We are involved in promoting among students the scientific events or competitions such as: the Interconnection Techniques in Electronics (TIE 2024), Hard&Soft Suceava, DrETC, ISETC, International Symposium for Design and Technology in Electronic Packaging (SIITME) and other local symposiums.
We encourage our members to join our faculty’s research group (e.g. https://uetm-team.upt.ro/) and they engage in creating educational materials tailored to students needs for a more profound learning experience during the Digital Integrated Circuit laboratory. Some students designed an integrated circuit which will be fabricated within TinyTapeout project (https://github.com/MateaSamuel/tt08-pwm-generator).
