Since 2013, a total of €3.372 million in 28 research grants have been awarded, 26 of which are as Principal Investigator (PI). Current research focuses on Product Certification, New Product Development, Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Laser Scanning, Building Information Modelling (BIM), Digital Construction, Sustainability in Construction Management, Construction 4.0, and Building International Relationships, where a TSB grant, nine Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP’s) and numerous FUSION/Innovation Boost/ Digitalisation Innovation Boost InterTradeIreland projects with industry partners. Further international research, supported by the British Council in Vietnam, has resulted in grants with the Hanoi University of Civil Engineering (formally, National University of Civil Engineering), Vietnam, on Sustainable Construction Management and new programme development.
