Prospero C. Naval, Jr., Ph.D., is a Professor and former Chair of the Department of Computer Science at the University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman. He currently leads the Computer Vision and Machine Intelligence Group, with research expertise in artificial intelligence, computer vision, and computational modeling. At this symposium, he will deliver a presentation on themes related to technology and sustainability.

Dr. Luis Gouveia Leite is a lecturer at the Institut Superior of Philosophy and Theology, Dili, Timor-Leste. He obtained his Doctorate in Philosophy from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Paraná (PUC–PR), Brazil, a Master’s degree in Philosophy from the Pontificia Università Urbaniana, Rome, and a Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy from STFT Widya Sasana, Malang, Indonesia.

His academic interests include philosophical ethics (particularly the ethics of responsibility), philosophical anthropology, philosophy of religion and culture, and the dialogue between modern ethical thought and local wisdom.
