By plane:
There are two airports in the Republic of North Macedonia from which most major airports are served:
- Skopje International Airport – main airport in Macedonia near the capital Skopje (153 km from Bitola).
- Paul the Apostle – Ohrid. This airport is located 9 km from Ohrid, the most popular tourist destination in North Macedonia (81 km from Bitola).
And, due to its proximity also one in neighboring Greece:
- Thessaloniki Airport – many tourists use the airport in Thessaloniki, Greece (209 km from Bitola).
There are two options for traveling to and from the airports of Skopje/Ohrid/Thessaloniki to Bitola: Either take a taxi from the airport (Skopje or Ohrid), with fixed prices and detailed information at: Skopje International Airport (airports.com.mk) and Ohrid Paul the Apostle Airport (airports.com.mk).
Travel by bus/train: http://e-avtobuska.mk/ or by train: https://mzt.mk/poagane-od-skopje/, but train service is not reliable and therefore not recommended.

The Macedonian Denar is the legal payment instrument in North Macedonia (MKD). Credit cards are also widely accepted, except for taxi services and farmers’ markets.
