Elaine Puentes Bermúdez obtained a bachelor's degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from University of Havana in 2017 and worked as an associated researcher to the project “Activation of defense mechanisms in Arabidopsis thaliana plants by exogenous application of plant steroid functional analogues” at the University of Valencia, she obtained her Master’s degree in Research in Molecular, Cellular and Genetics Bio. Currently she is a PhD student at the Genetic and Metabolic integration of Biotic and abiotic plant interactions (GaMBiT) group from the Jaume I University, associated to the national founded project “Strategies to reduce pesticide use through Genetic selection of REsistant gENotypes and priming of TOMato natural defenses (GREEN-TOM)” which is focusing on the coating of seeds with natural compounds and combinations of microorganisms, and the use of genetic resources derived from the introgression of tolerance genes of wild relatives to obtain tomato tolerance plants to concurrent abiotic and biotic stresses.
