The IREx 2024 aspires to incorporate even more exciting new technologies including, but not limited to, Information & Communication Technology (ICT), Educational Technology & Innovation (ED), Operational Excellence (OE), Internet of Things (IoT), Process Improvement, Ideas & Design, Multimedia, and Electronics that will chart new milestones in human history. This will serve as an excellent platform for scientists and innovators alike to meet the like-minded individuals and showcase inspiring ideas and notable innovations.

Format: 

• Virtual Presentation on 20th March 2024 , all are invited

  • IID Virtual Presentation is applicable for international and local participants from outside Kedah in either category C or D only

• Physical Presentation on 21th March 2024 @ UiTM Kedah Branch

• Category A & B: maximum of 3 students and one supervising teacher.

• Category C : maximum of 5 student members and one supervising lecturer.

• Category D : maximum of 6 members.

• The competition categories are (but not limited to):

  • • Invention / Creation - Creation of a new process or product.

    • Innovation / Innovative - Improvement to an existing process or product.

    • Design / Configuration - Plan design, 3D patterns, or multimedia.

• Areas of interest (but not limited to):

  • • Information & Communication Technology (ICT)

    • Education Technology & Innovation (ED)

    • Operational Excellence (OE)

    • Internet of Things (IoT)

    • Process Improvement

    • Ideas & Design

    • Multimedia

• • Awards to be won are:

    • • Diamond

      • Best Poster

      • Best Booth

      • Gold, Silver, and Bronze Medals

      • Entries that do not receive any medals or awards will be given a participation certificate.

Physical Presentation

• • For participants competing physically, attendance at the competition venue is mandatory at the specified time.

  • Participants must create an infographic poster (A3 size) using software or applications of their choice that meet the required criteria. 

  • Participants are encouraged to prepare bunting (2 feet x 6 feet) or any suitable size.

  • The organizers do not provide display boards and bunting stands.

  • Participants need to provide prototypes, samples of innovation, or designs in a suitable format. 

  • Each group will be provided with 1 table (2 feet x 3 feet), 1 chair, and 1 electrical socket. 

  • Participants are encouraged to bring extension cables and broadband for internet connection purposes. 

Virtual Presentation

• • IID Virtual Presentation is applicable for international and local participants from outside Kedah in either category C or D only.

  • Video duration: 5 – 8 minutes. 

  • After the video presentation is done, there will be a 5 – 10 minute Q&A session. All groups must be available during the virtual presentation. Failure to do so will result in disqualification. 

  • Guidelines for video presentation: 

    • Participants can use software or applications to record the presentation according to their creativity.   

    • Video resolution:  720p or 1080p.  

    • Video resolution: .mpg, .wmv, .mp4, .mpeg, or .avi format.  

    • All information such as the presentation title, author's name, name and address of the institution, and participant's image must be displayed on the presentation's first slide.  

    • Language: Bahasa Melayu OR English.  

    • Video presentation link must be uploaded in Google Drive/Google Form link provided by the organizers.

    • Name the video presentation as follows: Category A/B/C/D_Projek ID_Title of the Project. 

    • Example: Category C_103_Novel conference kit

    • The deadline for submitting presentation videos is May 15, 2024 (Wednesday).   

• • The content of the infographic poster must include the following items:

    • • Introduction

      • Explanation related to the project/innovation title

      • Relevant examples

      • Innovation/conceptual diagrams

  • The content of the bunting must include the following items:

    • • Abstract

      • Objectives

      • Novelty

      • Usefulness

      • Originality

      • Commercialization potential

• • The judging panel or jury consists of individuals from the industry and academic experts.

  • The decision of the judging panel is final.

  • The judging panel appointed by the Organizing Committee will assess and select winners based on the following 7 criteria:

    1. Commencement of idea or project

    2. Flow of ideas

    3. Impact of knowledge

    4. Contribution

    5. Commercialization potential

    6. Engagement and communication

    7. Presentation
