This report represents the first publication of a year project to examine and support the continuous advancement of engineering education in Malaysia through Outcome-Based Education (OBE). The study systematically investigates the impact of OBE after over a decade of implementation in engineering programmes accredited under the Engineering Accreditation Council (EAC). It reflects an effort to measure educational effectiveness, industry alignment, and institutional performance within Malaysia’s evolving higher education landscape.
The principal aim of this study is to provide evidence-based insights that inform policy refinement, accreditation practice, and curriculum enhancement across engineering institutions. Drawing on quantitative data, institutional documentation, and qualitative stakeholder engagements, this report evaluates how well the OBE system has met its objectives in producing competent, industry-ready graduates and enhancing programme quality.
