Assoc. Prof. Ts. Gs. Dr. Abdul Rauf bin Abdul Rasam is an accomplished academic and geospatial scientist who serves as the Head of Research and Publication and a Research Fellow at the Malaysia Institute of Transport (MITRANS), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). He is also an Associate Professor at the Centre of Studies for Surveying Science and Geomatics within the College of Built Environment, UiTM. With a strong academic foundation that includes a PhD in GIS specializing in Geospatial Modelling and Geovisualisation from Universiti Sains Malaysia, as well as a master’s and bachelor’s degree in geomatics from UiTM, he has built an impactful career in geospatial science, environment, transport, and mobility research. His areas of expertise span GIS cartography and mapping, geospatial modelling and visualisation, geomatics innovation and commercialization, GeoAI and GeoHealth, spatial epidemiology, and geomatics applications in environmental and transportation studies.

Dr. Abdul Rauf is an active contributor to the geospatial community, holding professional memberships with bodies such as the Institution of Geospatial and Remote Sensing Malaysia (IGRSM), the Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT), and the ISPRS International Journal of Geo-Information. Over the years, he has taught a wide range of courses in GIS, remote sensing, cartography, geospatial innovation, and postgraduate geospatial modelling, demonstrating deep commitment to teaching, research supervision, and curriculum development. His extensive academic presence is reflected across major scholarly platforms, including Web of Science, Scopus, Google Scholar, ResearchGate, and LinkedIn, showcasing a strong portfolio of publications and research contributions.
