School counselors spend most of their time in direct service to and contact with students. School counselors' duties are focused on the overall delivery of the total program through school counseling core curriculum, individual student planning and responsive services. (ACSA 2020).
I started working at Uinta 4 in the fall of 2016. Previously I worked at the University of Wyoming as an advising assistant for the College of Education.
No day is ever the same, but it aways involves working with great people and wonderful students. I wear multiple hats at the high school. Daily I provide academic, social/emotional, and college/ career support to all students. I also act as our testing coordinator, high school registrar, and post secondary counselor.
Uinta 4 is a great place to work and I am very lucky to have the opportunity to work with wonderful students, families, and colleagues. I meet weekly with Mrs. Stephens and Mrs. Van Dusen. We work together to help all students. We are very lucky to be able to meet, plan, and implement a comprehensive K-12 counseling program. These wonderful ladies have so much to offer our community.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions or concerns.

Prior to working in this school district, I taught high school/ middle school science, math, physical education and coached for 14 years in Daggett School District. I finished my masters degree in school counseling from Utah State University in 2012 and spent two years as a part time teacher and a part time school counselor. I have worked with many wonderful kids and families in my 20 years in education.
I started working at Uinta 4 in the fall of 2014. Every day is a different day, but always involves supporting students academically, socially, or emotionally in an individual or small group setting. In the general education setting, I am a school wide intervention and prevention service provider. I provide guidance lessons weekly, bi monthly, or periodically that addresses the following topics: college, career, social emotional learning, student skills, digital citizenship, etc. I am also a PBIS coach K-8 to ensure students have a positive safe learning environment to attend daily.
I am very fortunate to work in this great district with amazing students, families, administration, school board members, and colleagues. I am especially thankful for my professional team. Mrs. Van Dusen, Ms. Lupher, and I meet weekly to collaborate and offer students the best support we can. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.

I have decided to practice in a school setting because I love the many different ways to work with kids and their family. Before coming to Uinta 4, I was a community therapist and I worked in a community mental health center. I had many awesome experiences and was able to get some of the best training in mental health. I love working with kids and their families.
At Uinta 4 my job is unique and I have different responsibilities daily. I work with our Special Education department providing psycho-educational evaluations and clinical intervention to students. Within the general education setting, I provide prevention services (Guidance/Social Skills, K-8 PBIS Coaching for School wide PBIS Implementation), intervention services (Girl Power, Cool guys etc) and clinical intervention (Mental Health Counseling) to students. I really love working with our students and helping anyway that I can and I love watching our kids grow into independent people. Kids are just amazing! I also love the challenge of collaborating with our teachers to provide the best we can for our students.
I have several areas of professional interest with special training. Behavior, Autism, Child/Family Counseling, Trauma, Neuropsychology (how the brain works) , Academic Interventions and how the brain learns!
I have one of the best professional teams around. Ms. Lupher, Mrs. Stephens and myself collaborate weekly (sometimes daily) to offer our students the most comprehensive counseling program we can. Please contact us with any questions or concerns
