Any student who has difficulty affording groceries, getting sufficient food to eat everyday, or accessing a safe and stable place to live should contact anyone in the Office of Student Affairs https://www.uindy.edu/residence-life/residence-life-staff (as well as your professor if you feel comfortable doing so.)
If you have a disability that may impact your work in this class and for which you may require accommodations, please inform me immediately so that your learning needs may be appropriately met. Students with a disability must register with the Services for Students with Disabilities office (SSD) in Schwitzer 206 (317-788-6153, https://my.uindy.edu/disability-services/) for disability verification and for determination of reasonable academic accommodations.
Even though Brightspace core tools may be fully accessible and compliant, be aware that many add-ons, integrated tools, and even course content (videos, PowerPoints, etc.) might not be immediately compliant and may require special attention. You are responsible for initiating arrangements for academic accommodations.
Located in the first floor of the library and available in virtual meeting formats!
The Writing Lab offers free tutorials to all UIndy writers in all disciplines at whatever stage of writing, be it searching for a topic, developing a thesis and support, organizing or improving writing. Their goal is to produce better writers, not necessarily better individual pieces of writing by serving as a test audience and as writing coaches. Of course, writers who visit the Lab frequently will themselves begin to compose better individual texts. For more information, visit the library’s 1st floor or see the Student tab on the My UIndy page.
To schedule an appointment, register at https://my.uindy.edu/writing-lab/. I give extra credit towards your lowest paper grade for your first writing lab visit. This is the only extra credit offered in this class.

The Counseling Center for Growth and Development at the University of Indianapolis is focused on the mental well-being of the students. The clinicians at the Counseling Center privately work with students on a variety of issues, including adjusting to change, anxiety and depression, eating disorders, relationship concerns, sexual abuse, and suicide prevention. The counseling center is located on the second floor of the Schwitzer Student Center, suite 210. See https://uindy.edu/studentcounseling/ for more information.
Federal law, Title IX, and UIndy policy prohibit discrimination, harassment, and violence based on sex and gender (including sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic/dating violence, stalking, sexual exploitation, and retaliation). If you or someone you know has been harassed or assaulted, you can receive confidential counseling through the Health and Counseling Center (317-788-3437 or https://uindy.edu/studentcounseling/). You can also make an anonymous report using the form linked here. Alleged violations can be reported non-confidentially to the Title IX coordinator by phone at 317-788-2139 or by visiting Schwitzer 210. See UIndy’s Title IX website for more information. Though I will try to keep information you share with me private to the greatest extent possible, as a professor and UIndy employee, I have mandatory reporting responsibilities to share information regarding sexual misconduct and crimes I learn about to help make our campus a safer place.
You can always contact me! :)
