Abstract:
The article proves that the result of the International Scientific Project is the fulfillment of the tasks, reflected in the points of the Memorandum, regarding the digitization of the audio recordings of the sound archive of the Ukrainian Academy of Sciences and the creation of a voluminous Catalog on this basis. The work carried out will become an important component in enriching the treasury of Ukrainian culture. An in-depth study of the sound material will contribute to a more thorough addition of its content at the next stage of the work, namely, at the stage of musicological and cultural analysis of the recorded programs.
The fund of audio recordings includes a large number of copies of magnetic tapes, the topics of which mainly concern representatives of science, musical art, literature, religion and culture of the Ukrainian diaspora.
The basis of the content of sound recordings is thematic radio broadcasts on musical and literary topics, broadcasts of holiday concerts, liturgies, interviews with artists and writers, revealing the tragic pages of the events of the Holodomor and political repressions, etc. The originals of these recordings are preserved mainly on reels of standard and studio formats, as well as on cassette tapes, which were previously not subject to appropriate professional systematization.
The «Alphabetical register of recordings of the Svoboda radio archive (preliminary version)» compiled on June 15, 2005 is kept in the UVU library. The register includes 830 generalized names related to various surnames, events, musical groups, concerts, etc. However, this list is generalized, it does not contain specific information about this or that audio material, the date of its creation, data about performers or authorship of works.
Keywords: music recordings, sound audio archive, Ukrainian Free University.
