Abstract:
The article explores the theoretical and practical aspects of integrating classical theatrical anthropology into the system of modern directing of mass spectacles. The authors substantiate the relevance of reinterpreting the heritage of the Ukrainian stage school (in particular, the concepts of Les Kurbas and Mark Kropyvnytsky) as a strategic factor in the formation of a national cultural space in the context of globalization and sociopolitical challenges.
Particular attention is paid to the transformation of the role of the head of the creative team, who appears as a director-teacher, capable of adapting acting psychotechniques to the specifics of working with large groups of performers. The work reveals in detail the essence of L. Kurbas’s «transformation» method and the principles of the ensemble of the Coryphey Theater as an ethical and professional platform for uniting the team.
The methodological emphasis is placed on specific tools for organizing the creative process: training systems for psychophysical emancipation, the method of accented gesture, and the exercise «chorus of gestures». It is proven that the success of a mass leisure project depends on the director’s ability to scale individual acting expressiveness to the level of a large space, while maintaining the inner fullness of the image and the synchronicity of the collective rhythm.
The examples of immersive projects and historical reconstructions (the festivals «Fun on Khortytsia», «Tu stan!») demonstrate the transition of the viewer from a passive role to a direct cocreator of an artistic event.
The conclusions outline the prospects for further research related to the introduction of digital technologies and the study of the art-therapeutic potential of mass leisure practices for the consolidation of modern society.
Keywords: stage skills, directing mass celebrations, creative team, transformation method, ensemble, mass leisure practices, director-teacher, head of creative collective.
