PREPARATION OF FUTURE PRESCHOOL TEACHERS FOR THE FORMATION OF THE FOUNDATIONS OF UKRAINIAN NATIONAL IDENTITY IN OLDER PRESCHOOL CHILDREN

Abstract:
The article provides a theoretical substantiation and practical presentation of the specific features of preparing future preschool educators to form the foundations of Ukrainian national identity in senior preschool children The relevance of the study is driven by socio-political transformations in Ukraine, the processes of restoring the national and cultural space, as well as the increasing role of education in shaping Ukrainian national identity among the younger generation. It is emphasized that under current conditions, the professional training of future educators acquires strategic importance, as it is the preschool educator who lays the foundations of a child’s Ukrainian national identity.
The regulatory and legal framework of Ukraine governing the processes of forming Ukrainian national identity is analyzed, and the transformation of the educational discourse from the concept of «national-patriotic education» to the concept of «formation of Ukrainian national identity» is outlined. Scientific approaches to the training of future educators are generalized, and the insufficient development of the practical component of professional training in this area is identified. Particular attention is paid to the integration of formal and non-formal education in the professional training of higher education students majoring in 012/A2 «Preschool Education».
The expediency of using training technologies as an effective interactive form of learning, which ensures the integration of theoretical preparation, practical activity, and reflection, is substantiated. A training course entitled «Preparation of Future Educators for the Formation of the Foundations of Ukrainian National Identity in Senior Preschool Children» has been developed, which includes five content modules: normative-value, psychological-pedagogical, technological, partnership interaction, and activity in a post-conflict environment. It is proven that the implementation of the proposed model contributes to the formation of a system of knowledge, skills, and competencies in future educators necessary for carrying out professional activities aimed at forming the foundations of Ukrainian national identity in senior preschool children. It is determined that the proposed training can be implemented both within the system of formal education in higher education institutions and in the system of non-formal education as a form of professional development for educators.
