Abstract:
The article examines the problem of organizing leisure activities for children with special educational needs in the context of the modern educational environment. The relevance of using innovative forms of leisure as an important factor in socialization, communicative development, emotional well-being, and successful integration of children with SEN into society is substantiated. It is determined that the modern education system is focused not only on the educational process but also on creating conditions for the comprehensive development of the individual, ensuring psychological comfort, and realizing individual needs and abilities. In this context, leisure activities acquire special significance, as they contribute to the development of creativity, independence, initiative, and positive interaction among participants in the educational process.
Modern scientific approaches to the interpretation of the concepts of «leisure activity», «inclusive environment» and «innovative technologies in education» are analyzed. It has been established that innovative forms of organizing leisure activities for children with special educational needs are based on the principles of inclusiveness, accessibility, individualization, variability, and partnership pedagogy. Particular attention is paid to the use of interactive, gamebased, art-therapeutic, information and communication, and project-based technologies in working with children with SEN. The most effective innovative forms of organizing leisure activities for children with special educational needs in educational institutions are characterized. In particular, the importance of art therapy, music therapy, fairy-tale therapy, sensory games, LEGO technologies, interactive quests, theatrical activities, creative workshops, inclusive clubs, and social projects is highlighted. It is emphasized that the application of such forms of work contributes to the development of children’s emotional sphere, the formation of social interaction skills, the development of fine motor skills, cognitive activity, and creativity.
Special attention is devoted to the use of digital technologies in the leisure activities of children with SEN. It is determined that multimedia tools, interactive whiteboards, online platforms, digital games, and virtual educational environments make leisure activities more accessible, engaging, and adapted to the individual capabilities of each child. It has been established that the implementation of digital technologies positively affects children’s motivation to participate in joint activities and contributes to the development of their independence and communication skills. Attention is focused on the necessity of creating a psychologically safe and barrier-free educational space that ensures equal opportunities for the participation of children with SEN in various types of leisure activities. The importance of cooperation among teachers, teacher assistants, practical psychologists, social pedagogues, and parents in the process of organizing leisure activities for children with special educational needs is emphasized. It is proved that the effectiveness of leisure activities largely depends on the professional competence of teachers, their readiness to use innovative methods, and their consideration of individual characteristics of children.
