Abstract:
This article describes the process of developing AI literacy as a critically important component of the academic culture of future professionals amid the rapid transformation of the educational landscape. The focus is on the widespread access to generative models, mastery of artificial intelligence tools must go beyond purely technical skills, becoming a fundamental professional value. The article examines the contradiction between the rapid pace of innovation and the lack of methodologies for their ethical use.
Particular attention is paid to the shift in the role of the higher education student: from a passive consumer of generated content to a responsible and critical editor. The necessity of understanding the principles of large language models is substantiated, as this allows students to recognize the limitations of algorithms and avoid perceiving AI as an infallible source of truth. In this context, academic culture is interpreted as the ability to preserve authorial independence in the process of automating intellectual labor.
The author proposes a number of practical methods for integrating AI tools into the educational process, including the «self disclosure» policies, the reverse prompting technique, and exercises designed to develop fact-checking skills. The author emphasizes the importance of breaking down complex tasks and mastering the art of formulating structured queries (prompt engineering). This approach allows for the transformation of the covert use of AI into a legitimate research process based on the principles of academic integrity.
It is emphasized that the effective development of AI competence is possible only through the systematic updating of faculty knowledge and the development of internal codes of academic integrity. Artificial intelligence is defined not as a replacement for the human intelligence, but as a powerful enhancer of intelligence («augmented intelligence»). The harmonious combination of technological innovations with ethical standards is identified as the key to training competitive professionals capable of continuous self-development.
