Abstract:
The article provides a comprehensive analysis of the processes of integrating Ukrainian inclusive education into the European educational space in the context of contemporary socio-economic transformations and the state’s European integration aspirations. The theoretical and methodological foundations of inclusive education development are examined, based on the principles of humanism, equality of rights, accessibility of education, and non-discrimination, which are fundamental to the educational systems of European Union countries.
The current state of inclusive education in Ukraine is analyzed, and key achievements are identified, including the expansion of the network of inclusive resource centers, improvement of the regulatory and legal framework, intensification of interagency cooperation, and the implementation of individual development programs for children with special educational needs. At the same time, a number of challenges hindering effective integration into the European educational space are outlined, among them insufficient material and technical support of educational institutions, unequal access to quality educational services, inadequate preparedness of teaching staff to work in inclusive settings, and a limited level of implementation of innovative educational technologies.
Special attention is paid to the analysis of European experience in organizing inclusive education (Germany, Poland, Finland, Sweden), where inclusion is considered a systemic characteristic of education that ensures maximum consideration of the individual needs of each student. It is determined that the effectiveness of inclusive education in these countries is ensured through a comprehensive approach that includes early diagnosis, psychological and pedagogical support, close cooperation among specialists from various fields, active parental involvement, and the use of modern educational technologies.
Innovative approaches to the development of inclusive education in Ukraine are substantiated, including the digitalization of the educational process, the implementation of STEM education in inclusive settings, the use of adaptive educational platforms, the development of distance learning, the application of game-based and art-therapeutic methods, as well as the integration of interdisciplinary approaches in teaching children with special educational needs.
Strategic directions for the development of inclusive education in Ukraine within the context of European integration are identified, including the modernization of educational infrastructure, improvement of teacher training systems, expansion of international cooperation, harmonization of legislation with European standards, and the formation of an inclusive culture in society.
It is emphasized that the integration of Ukrainian inclusive education into the European space is not only an educational but also a socio-cultural process that contributes to the development of a democratic society, improvement of citizens’ quality of life, and the strengthening of social cohesion. The study concludes that further research is needed to assess the effectiveness of inclusive practices, develop innovative learning models, and implement evidence-based approaches in the education system.
