Abstract:
The modern educational space requires progressive approaches from the organization of educational and cognitive activity of students of technical specialties. In order for a graduate of an educational institution to be able to take an active life position, adapt in life, and independently acquire the necessary knowledge, he needs to create appropriate conditions during training that contribute to the formation of professional skills. Such skills can be acquired by students of technical specialties only during active mental activity, which is facilitated by the activation of students’ cognitive activity through the use of game technologies and professional simulations.
The case method, which has wide application in teaching practice, is significant in activating the cognitive activity of students of technical specialties and belongs to the methods of active, problem, situational analysis. The case method is an integration method, because it is based on the provisions of different approaches.
Role-playing, which is important in activating the cognitive activity of students of technical specialties, takes into account the interests, abilities, psychological characteristics of students, helps to increase students’ motivation to study professional disciplines, which are based on activities in real communication. Game activity contributes to the formation of positive qualities of each individual, an active life position of a modern student in the team and society.
Simulations or simulation games are a kind of role-playing games using clearly defined (by tradition or law) steps and known roles that must be performed by performers in order to activate the cognitive activity of students of technical specialties. Activation of the cognitive activity of students of technical specialties is carried out through the use of project technologies, which are now becoming an integrated component of the system of vocational and technical education.
The didactic system is the technology of developmental education, which is necessary in activating the cognitive activity of students of technical specialties.
