Abstract:
The article summarizes the features of the formation of soft skills («soft» skills) in the context of the implementation of the educational process in higher music education. The mechanisms of the relationship between individual disciplines and various communication manifestations of such a relationship are shown. The importance of professional mastery of theoretical knowledge and practical performance skills is emphasized for the effective implementation of interdisciplinary interaction and the formation of soft skills in musicians-performers.
This article provides a theoretical justification of the relationship between the formation of soft skills and the specifics of interdisciplinary communication, and also highlights specific mechanisms of the process of implementing such a relationship. It is shown that the manifestation of communication initiative not only on stage, but also in social interaction is one of the signs of a mature, formed personality. Higher education in the field of musical art is aimed at the ability to show initiative, to be a personal source of the creative process, and the professional training of a musician involves the integration of artistic, pedagogical, psychological, and cultural components.
The article analyzes the synthesis of practical and performing disciplines through the mutually inverse nature of skills of different types. During public performances on professional topics, students combined performing skills and theoretical knowledge. They felt confident as performers, since they had previously thoroughly analyzed the work, revealing all its form-forming, stylistic, and expressive aspects. Also, the performer’s confidence in this particular piece, a high level of mastery of the instrument (piano, accordion), and active participation in the orchestra allowed them to focus on an in-depth analysis of the piece. The theoretical and practical approach to training students is the result, among other things, of communication between teachers of various profiles.
It is concluded that soft skills as a component of the characteristics of a professional in musical art can be studied at the intersection of musicology, general and musical pedagogy, social psychology, philosophy, and other sciences.
Keywords: soft skills, higher music education, interdisciplinary communication, music-theoretical disciplines, the connection between theory and practice, instrumental performance.
