Abstract:
The article presents a comprehensive SWOT analysis of the training of future music teachers for professional activity in general secondary education institutions. The study highlights the issue of transforming teacher training in the context of contemporary educational changes, in particular the digitalisation of education, the adoption of a competence-based approach, and the growing importance of creative and information-communication components in the work of music teachers. Particular attention is paid to the shift in the professional paradigm of the modern teacher, who is transitioning from the role of a knowledge transmitter to that of an organiser of the educational environment, a facilitator of creative activity and an active participant in digital interaction.
The aim of the article is to analyse the current state of professional training of future music teachers using the SWOT approach, identify its strengths and weaknesses, determine development opportunities and potential threats, and substantiate promising avenues for improving this process.
Based on the analysis of scientific sources and educational practices, it has been established that the training of future music teachers is a complex, multi-component process that integrates musical-performing, pedagogical, methodological, and digital competencies. It is emphasized that the effectiveness of such training depends on the level of integration of information and communication technologies, the practical orientation of the educational process, and the development of students’ creative potential.
The results of the SWOT analysis reveal the key strengths of professional training, including its integrative nature, practice-oriented content, and the possibility of combining artistic and pedagogical activities. At the same time, several weaknesses have been identified, such as the fragmentation of competence formation, insufficient integration of digital technologies into professional disciplines, and limited material and technical resources.
The study also outlines significant opportunities for improving the training of future music teachers, particularly through the digitalisation of education, the use of multimedia tools, the expansion of access to online educational resources, and the integration of international experience. Among the potential threats are the inconsistency of educational programmes with modern labour market requirements, the rapid obsolescence of technologies, and insufficient funding of arts education.
It is concluded that improving the effectiveness of training future music teachers requires a systematic approach focused on updating educational content, strengthening practical training, integrating digital technologies, and creating an innovative educational environment. The implementation of these measures will contribute to the formation of a competitive, creatively active, and professionally competent teacher capable of effective activity in modern educational conditions.
