Abstract:
The article provides a comprehensive theoretical and methodological analysis of the improvement of the qualification of teaching staff of higher education institutions as one of the promising and strategically important directions of activity of the academy of continuing education.
The relevance of the development of a system of continuous professional development of teachers in the context of transformations of the modern educational space, caused by European integration processes, digitalization, increasing requirements for the quality of educational services, as well as the challenges of wartime, is substantiated. The essence of advanced training as a purposeful, systematic and continuous process of updating the professional competencies of pedagogical workers is revealed. The role of the academy of continuing education as an institutional center of coordination, scientific and methodological support and innovative support of advanced training programs is determined. Modern approaches, forms and models of organizing advanced training for teachers are analyzed, in particular, modular-competence, andragogical, distance and mixed formats of training.
The results of the generalization of practical experience in implementing advanced training programs in the activities of the M. V. Оstrohradskyi Poltava Academy of Continuous Education and the Municipal establishment of higher education «Academy of culture and Arts» by Transcarpathian Regional Council are presented, the main problems and prospects for the further development of this area of activity of academies of continuing education are outlined.
