Abstract:
The academic community of Ukraine is today oriented towards the pro-European direction of modern education, which entails constant reform of the educational sector, and economic training is its component. In accordance with the new content of education, the formation of financial literacy in students, the development of entrepreneurship, the formation of economic knowledge of future vocational teachers is one of the cross-cutting lines of education. An important role in the formation of economic knowledge of future vocational teachers belongs to the teacher.
A modern teacher who does not have modern financial knowledge and skills to participate in entrepreneurial activity is forced to learn himself and cannot provide students with perfect economic knowledge. This should become one of the directions of his professional and personal development. Modern socio-economic transformations of society require teachers not only to have professional training in the field of education, but also to adapt to the conditions of the labor market and changes in the educational environment, to possess economic knowledge, to make sound management decisions, and to be able to use resources rationally.
A necessary condition for ensuring effective professional activity of teachers of vocational education is the formation of economic competencies, especially in the conditions of autonomy of educational institutions, decentralization, and the growth of the role of management in the educational sphere.
The economic competence of future teachers of vocational education includes not only basic knowledge of economics, but also the ability to understand the basics of financial literacy, analyze economic information, social entrepreneurship and marketing in education, and plan educational processes taking into account the resource component. When preparing future teachers of vocational education who are able to ensure a sufficient level of acquisition of economic knowledge by students in accordance with modern requirements, it is necessary to take into account some important conditions. In particular, teachers must have appropriate practical experience and a sufficient level of economic knowledge for high-quality teaching of the material; curricula must meet the requirements of real life; the educational environment must promote self-development, creativity and self-improvement of future specialists.
