Abstract:
The article provides a theoretical substantiation of and outlines the methodological potential of a methodology for developing students’ project culture through the use of open data and digital tools within the educational component «The Art of Landscape Design» (using the example of South Ukrainian National Pedagogical University named after K. D. Ushynsky).
The study clarifies the concept of «students’ project culture» in the context of training future specialists in landscape design and identifies its structural components: analytical-preparatory, artistic-compositional, ecological-value, technological-projective, and reflective-presentational. The didactic potential of open data and digital tools is demonstrated as a means of ensuring a consistent transition from the analysis of the site’s initial characteristics to the development, visualisation, presentation, and evaluation of a design solution.
The article proposes a stage-based methodology for developing students’ project culture, which includes analytical-orientational, conceptual-design, modelling-visualisation, and presentation-reflective stages. The effectiveness of this methodology within the educational component «The Art of Landscape Design» is ensured by a set of interrelated pedagogical conditions: the use of open data, the stage-based organisation of project activity, the integration of key training components, the appropriate use of digital tools, the combination of individual and collaborative work, and assessment focused on both the process and the outcome.
The scientific novelty of the study lies in clarifying the concept of students’ project culture, defining its structure, and describing a methodology for its development. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of applying this methodology in the training of future specialists in landscape design.
