Abstract:

The relevance of the study is due to the fact that the traditions and customs of the local population of the Republic of Ireland, which preserve the national cultural code, can rightfully be considered one of the most remarkable and original.

The purpose of the article is to study and analyze the national foundations of the culture of the Republic of Ireland, the main tasks are to study and determine the means of adaptation to the realities of the present of deep-rooted customs and traditions that are associated with the processes of identity formation in Irish culture, to consider the features of cultural collective consciousness associated with myths and legends, which determine the specifics of musical, poetic and dance traditions.

To achieve the goal of the study, empirical and theoretical general scientific methods were used, within the framework of studying individual aspects of the development of Irish culture – historical and comparative methods, which allowed us to determine adaptive to reality practices of supporting historical and cultural heritage by state and private institutions (systematic reconstruction of monuments and popularization of cultural heritage, control and support of cultural and artistic figures, implementation of numerous cultural programs and scientific research).

They demonstrate the dynamics of the strengthening of the ethnically unifying influence of preserved traditions, and also determine the prospects for strengthening the attractiveness of Irish identity in the world.
