The aim of this study is to understand how the COVID-19 pandemic has impacted the school readiness process for African American families with young children with disabilities through the lens of teachers.
It is anticipated that the findings of this study will support families in developing culturally relevant resources and recommendations in navigating the school readiness process.
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?
Teachers that work primarily with African American children (ages 4-7) with a suspected or diagnosed intellectual or developmental disability/delay in pre-K, kindergarten, 1st grade, or 2nd grade during the years of 2020-2023 in Illinois.
HOW DO I KNOW IF I AM ELIGIBLE?
WHAT WILL MY PARTICIPATION INCLUDE?
Complete a demographic questionnaire
60-minute (phone or video conferencing) interviews. Participants will have the option to have their interviews audio recorded.
WHAT WILL I GET FOR PARTICIPATING IN THIS STUDY?
You will receive a $50 Target gift card following the completion of each of the interview.
