Lectures: We will have 11 weeks in person; 5 online weeks. See schedule in the link above.


Grades: The class will be passed with 40% (D=50-70%, C=70-80%, B=80-90%, A=90-100%).

The grades will be entered on Blackboard.



Work to be submitted or done in class: During the semester students will have to prepare the following (see here for each week's assignments):


(I) 5 homework assignments to be completed during online weeks.

Graded: Pass/Fail, worth 50% of final grade.


(II) 3 writing assignments:

  • Short Essay, worth 20% of final grade.

  • Quiz and Answer sheet, worth 10% of final grade each; and

  • Short Bio, worth 10% of final grade.


(III) Participation in class during in-person lectures (grading and discussing other student's assignments), worth 10% of final grade.

How to submit the work:

Please, for your first Homework, share the overleaf document with math300.uic@gmail.com.

The same link will work for each homework since you'll be using the same file, so no need of submitting multiple files. We will be making the comments for each homework in that week's page in Blue, for you to see how to improve the work next time.
