A few interesting findings include:
There are many L stations that belong to multiple CTA lines
For instance, the station Clark/Lake belongs to a multitude of lines including the Blue, Brown, Green, Orange, Purple and Pink Lines. These types of stops that belong to multiple lines seem to be there in order for the passenger to transfer to the provided lines.
The blue line is the most extensive CTA line extending further west than any other line
The blue line extends from one side of the suburbs all the way to another side of the suburbs (Forest Park to O'Hare -- which is practically in the suburb of Bensenville-- and a large amount of Chicago stops in between).
Interestingly, there were conversations about the Blue Line extending further west into Schaumburg, but the idea was discarded with talks of other transportation options being put in Schaumburg instead.
The number of entries on the Red and Blue line is generally larger than the number of entries in any other line
One reason for this is because the Red and Blue line are the only train lines that are open 24 hours per day.
Clark/Lake is surrounded by stations from other lines
The Blue Line extends further west than any other line
This table is ordered from the highest number of entries to the lowest number of entries. The first five all belong to either Red or Blue line stops.
