Arun’s current research interests are in the areas of nanomaterials and devices for energy and manufacturing applications. He received his doctoral degree in Robotics from ETH Zurich and has held a post-doctoral appointment at the Sandia Labs in Albuquerque. He studied mechanical engineering at the University of Minnesota and at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (India), and has previously worked at the Honeywell R&D Labs. Prior to moving to UIC, Arun was an Assistant Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University. He is a recipient of the NSF CAREER award, and his research program has also received other federal and national lab support. His research has appeared in journals such as Science, ACS Nano, Nano Today, and Nanoscale, among others, and has also resulted in multiple US patents.
