VIVE

  • VIVE comparing to CAVE2 has lower resolution.

  • You cannot see your body in VIVE, and you will not be able to estimate the size of objects. Actually that is the reason why some of my objets are bigger than they should be in real life, I initially checked my project with VIVE and it did not give me the feeling that the people are bigger than I am.

  • Moving in the environment and interacting with models are still far more difficult than real Grove.

  • The field of vision is vey restricted comparing to both CAVE2 and real life.

  • When you put on the headset you are completely out of the real world and you would not even hear people around you, thus no collaboration can be done with VIVE. It is only good for single users.

  • I did feel more immersed in VIVE rather than CAVE2, but obviously not as much as the real world.

  • VIVE's headset is uncomfortable and heavy, it can also cause headache (which I got after recording the video), and nausea.

  • You cannot see the actual controllers, so sometimes I could not get the exact direction of them.
