About

I am a Ph.D. Candidate in Electrical Engineering at University of Illinois at Chicago, where I am pursuing my PhD studies under the supervision of Professor Sudip.K.Mazumder. I am a part of the Laboratory of Energy and Switching Electronic Systems (LESES) for the past 5 years. I am a part of the Laboratory of Energy and Switching Electronic Systems for the past 5 years, and would like to consider myself very fortunate to work with great researchers from academia and industry during this interesting tenure. My work lies on the border of control theory and its applications governing real-time operation of Power Electronic Systems (PES). I am quite fortunate to work in this laboratory under Professor Sudip.K.Mazumder who helped me work independently on research challenges like:

  • whether advanced non-linear controllers can be woven fine into cost-sensitive PES set-ups;

  • other than simple regulatory and tracking purposes, whether control theory can help perform fast-scale and important objectives like EMI and switching loss mitigation;

  • and whether doing so, such controllers can help improve power density and efficiency of PES, and all in low-cost industrial scale WBG set-ups and using low-cost processors.

Before my PhD studies, I completed my B.E from Jadavpur University, Kolkata and performed internships in IIT, Bombay, University of Augsburg where I was fortunate enough to be guided by people like Professor H.B.Hablani, M. Finkel and S. Chakravorti under whom I worked on control systems for Aerospace, and HVDC applications.
