The key to writing a good synthesis essay is to remember the main qualities you should be looking to fulfill. These are:
It accurately reports information from the sources using different phrases and sentences.
It is organized in a way that readers can immediately see where the information from the sources overlaps.
It makes sense of all the sources and helps the reader understand them in a greater depth.
All academic essay writing follows a format in which it should be presented.
The introduction which is usually only one paragraph which includes:
A one-sentence statement that sums up the topic.
Introduces the texts that will be synthesized.
The body of the essay which should be organized by the theme, point or aspect of the topic. The organization is the most important part of a synthesis, so be sure that each paragraph:
Begins with a sentence that informs readers of the topic of the paragraph.
Includes information from more than one source.
Clearly indicates which material comes from which source using lead in phrases and citations.
Shows the similarities or differences between the different sources in ways that make the paper as informative as possible.
Represents the texts fairly, even if that seems to weaken the paper. You are only repeating what the source says, in your own words. Because you are using your own words does not mean you are changing what the source says.
Conclusion. When you have finished your paper, the conclusion should remind readers of the most significant themes you have found and the ways they connect to the overall topic. You may also need to offer an interpretation of the material or take a position and include a thesis.

A group will be formed and will be assigned to report a particular topic (Topics 8-15).
Use the Google slides for you to work and collaborate as a group. This is a group activity. Please send a copy (screenshots, etc.) of any of the following: chats, messenger, text messages as proof of your discussions and interactions. There might be a tendency to just let the leader or anybody whom you will assign to work the ppt alone.
Each group will prepare a PowerPoint presentation. Kindly email your ppt ahead of time so that the teacher can post it in the Google Classroom.
Once the files have been uploaded in our Google Classroom, the rest of the class will have to go over these presentations to prepare for the online discussion forum. Each one will be asked to participate in the ODF (online discussion forum) of each report. Participation in all the ODFs will take the place of your quiz on that day, so please make sure that you give your input.
Grading system:
Group PowerPoint Presentation will be graded based on the rubrics that will be provided.
Group Reporting will be graded based on how the members delivered their report. A rubric will also be provided.
Individual output: Reflection Paper on the topic assigned to your group.
