Q: I do not live within the Union Hill School District boundaries. How do I enroll my student?
A: Open Enrollment for TK-6 Charter is February 19 - April 15, 2020. On the Union Hill Elementary School webpage (unionhillschool.org) enroll online by selecting the GREEN button titled, “Enrolling Your Student” and then select the BLUE “New Student Enrollment” button when it drops down. Once your online enrollment is complete, including all required documents, your child’s enrollment status will be listed as complete and ready for the Public Random Drawing. ALL ENROLLMENT APPLICATIONS MUST BE COMPLETED BY APRIL 15 TO BE ENTERED IN THE PUBLIC RANDOM DRAWING. The public random drawing will be held on April 22, 2020 in the District Office Board Room. During this process, completed enrollments will be randomly selected and a prioritized grade level waiting list will be developed. Priority will be given to UHSD residents, siblings of currently enrolled UH students, and to students with a parent/guardian that works 10 or more hours within the Union Hill District boundaries. As grade level vacancies occur, students will be offered enrollment according to the prioritized waiting list. In an effort to keep families intact, siblings of students will also be offered admission should there be respective grade-level vacancies.
Q: What if I do not get my paperwork turned in to the school office by April 15?
A: Unfortunately, families without an enrollment priority will not be entered into the public random drawing if the enrollment application is not completed by April 15, 2020. Applications completed after the April 15th deadline will be added to the bottom of the waiting list in the order in which their application is complete.
Q: What are Enrollment Priorities?
A: TK- 6th grade students with the following enrollment priorities will be automatically be drawn first during the Public Random Drawing. All students will be enrolled into available spaces in the order in which they are drawn. Please be certain to select all the enrollment priorities that apply when completing the online enrollment, and provide all required documentation. If no space is available for the grade level drawn, students will be placed on a waiting list in the order in which they are drawn.
