This overview for integrating technology across curriculums has been developed using the TIP model. By utilizing this approach, the library will be able to work with teachers across departments to develop strategies for technology integration. By focusing on the strategies first and what content area teachers need students to be able to do, the library can assist teachers in developing authentic, interactive meaningful instruction. Additionally, by providing these supports, students will be able to develop multimodal skills which will help them across disciplines.
Using the TIP Model, the UHigh library will work towards integrating new medias to allow students to:
Do: Access a variety of resources (text, charts, graphs, articles, e-books, audiobooks, etc.) to use in creating presentations and sharing knowledge through multimedia formats.
Mean: Express analysis and understandings of the texts and information through interactive tools and multimedia presentations.
Relationships: Interact with the content and their peers in new and thoughtful ways by using technology tools to annotate and collaborate.
Think: Evaluate concepts and discipline-specific content as experts in the field by creating and analyzing.
Be: Be experts in the field who can use technology across disciplines to interact with knowledge, information, and ideas.
