Land Acknowledgement:

These treaty lands are steeped in rich Indigenous history and modern traditions. The city of Guelph rests on land defined by Treaty 3, the Between the Lakes Purchase, which comprises all areas “lying and being between the Lakes Ontario and Erie.” Our community holds a responsibility to honour and respect the four directions: land, waters, plants, animals and ancestors. As visitors to this land, we acknowledge the Grand River Metis, the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation of the Anishinaabek Peoples, and the dish with one spoon wampum.
