Snake Monitoring Program

During the summer of 2026, we worked with staff from Ontario Nature to set up 24 snake monitoring boards. Following the Long-Term Monitoring Protocol developed by Ontario Nature, we will check the boards regularly starting in early May 2027 in order to help monitor snake populations in the province. Teachers who bring their classes for a hike program during the spring will have the option of visiting the boards and learning about local snakes as part of their program.
