I created this visualization because campaign finance is one of the clearest ways to understand political influence, constituency alignment, and the reach of a candidate’s message. It’s newsworthy because geographic donor patterns often predict who a politician is accountable to: local voters, statewide coalitions, or national interest groups.
Building these charts pushed me to strengthen several skills: cleaning and standardizing messy data, designing graphics that communicate clearly without overwhelming the reader, and translating raw numbers into a narrative that reveals something meaningful about a political campaign.
