Welcome to Christopher Maulén's homepage

Education

I am a postdoc in the research group of Prof. Sebastian Herr at Bielefeld University within the Project Nonlinear interaction of rough waves of the Collaborative Research Center 1283 ‘Taming uncertainty and profiting from randomness and low regularity in analysis, stochastics and their applications’.

I completed my PhD Thesis at the Department of Mathematical Engineering (DIM) of the University of Chile, under the advise of Prof. Claudio Muñoz. Previously, Prof. Manuel Pinto was my master's thesis advisor at the  Faculty of Sciences of the University of Chile.

My Research

I am interested in Nonlinear Dispersive Equations, Asymptotic Models for Water Waves and Mathematical-biology. The Boussinesq models are among my main motivations. In particular, I study well- and ill-posedness, stability and asymptotic stability of solitary waves. I also study some advanced quantum field models.
