Meet the Coaching Staff
Abbie Hogan has been a part of the Union Grove Volleyball (UGVB) program since 2016 and has served as head coach since 2022. Throughout her playing career, she competed as a middle hitter, outside, and defensive specialist. During her senior year, she was part of a team that qualified for the state tournament. Her dedication and leadership earned her the S.A.L.T. Student-Athlete Leader of the Year award.
In 2025, Abbie was recognized as an AVCA High School 30 Under 30 Coach, highlighting her impact on the sport. She also coaches for Wisconsin Juniors Volleyball Club, serving as the girls' volleyball strength and conditioning coach.
Passionate about athlete development, Abbie mentors middle school girls, encouraging healthy habits that will support them throughout their lives.
Abbie earned a bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Science from Carthage College, specializing in K-12 Physical Education with a minor in Health and coaching certifications. She also earned a master’s degree in Sports Leadership from the University of Wisconsin–Madison. In addition to coaching, she teaches high school Physical Education in Racine.
Outside of coaching, she enjoys fitness, cooking, and spending time with her family.
Varsity Assistant Coach
Cameron Lopp
Coach Cameron played two years of high school volleyball and has been coaching boys volleyball at UGHS since 2022. He previously coached at Epic Volleyball Club and is currently in his second season with Wisconsin Juniors, serving as the head coach for the 16 National team.
At the collegiate level, Cameron has been the student manager for the UW–Parkside volleyball team since 2023.
Cameron earned his bachelor’s degree in Sports Management with a minor in Coaching. He will continue his education by pursuing a master’s degree online through West Virginia University.
In his free time, Cameron enjoys playing volleyball and basketball, watching sports, spending time with family, and playing video games.
JV1 Coach
Amber Schmitt
Coach Schmitt is an assistant coach for the 14 Premier team at Milwaukee Juniors Volleyball Club, where she is dedicated to helping athletes grow both on and off the court. With a passion for teaching and mentorship, she focuses on building strong fundamentals, teamwork, and confidence in her players.
Outside of volleyball, Coach Schmitt works as an elementary school teacher in Racine, where she enjoys making a positive impact in the classroom each day. Her experience as an educator carries over into her coaching style, creating a supportive and encouraging environment for her athletes.
