Bronco Hall of Fame
Name: Jackson Zimmerman
Grad Year: 2025
Position: Defender
Accomplishments: Jackson was a 2-year team captain for the Broncos, also twice named 1st Team All-Conference and 1st Team All-County as a defender for UGHS. He was the lone centerback in a back-3 that earned 10 shutouts included back-to-back clean sheets at the WIAA state tournament in 2023, leading the Broncos to their first-ever WIAA Division 2 state championship. Jackson was a ferocious tackler during his career, with pace and an excellent ability to win the ball in the air; Jackson held down the UG defense to the tune of 30 shutouts in his career with 1 Southern Lakes Conference title, 3 WIAA Regional titles, and the aforementioned state title as well. During "JZ's" time at UGHS, the Broncos went 9-0-3 in the state playoffs as well. "Jackson was the miracle we needed in 2022 to change the program from good to great... he gave us the ability to shut down any attack, no matter how talented, and put us on an elite pedistal. Great defender, but a fantastic kid too" summarized Coach Jung about JZ. Jackson is older brother to current Bronco Frank Zimmerman.
Name: Tyler Hagen
Grad Year: 2025
Position: Midfielder
Accomplishments: Tyler was a 4-year varsity starter, two-year team captain and figurehead in a Bronco team that did nothing but win during his tenure (62 total wins). Tyler primarily played the holding-midfield role on a team that won three-straight WIAA Regional titles, their first-ever Southern Lakes Conference title, and their first-ever WIAA state title. Tyler earned 1st Team All-Conference and 1st Team All-County during that span, becoming a dominant midfielder on both ends of the field. Dominant in the air, an excellent distributor of the ball, and dangerous on set-pieces; Tyler became one of the best two-way players in Bronco history. "Tyler is tough as nails, very high soccer IQ, equally as high soccer ability... and a first-class young man. You really couldn't ask for much more than what he gave this program for 4 years" summarized Coach Jung about Hagen. Tyler is older brother to current Bronco Niall Hagen as well. He's continuing his soccer career at UW-Steven's Point, follow Tyler (HERE).
Name: Owen Zikowski
Grad Year: 2024
Position: Forward
Accomplishments: Owen was a 4-year starter for the varsity Broncos during his career, captaining the team in both his junior and senior seasons. Owen was awarded 1st Team All-Conference and 1st Team All-Racine County in both his junior and senior seasons, became the third Bronco to earn Racine County Player of the Year, also becoming just the third-ever Bronco to earn Honorable Mention All-State as he climbed the all-time leader boards statistically; simultaneously making history of epic proportions. Owen was the leading goal-scorer (21 goals) for a 2023 team that finished on an 8-match win-streak, leading them to a stunning 1-0 win over West DePere in the WIAA D2 State Final to earn UG's first-ever state championship. The lone goal was scored by Zikowski himself, as was nearly every game-tying or game-winning playoff goal that season. Owen leaves the Broncos third all-time in career assists (25) and the fourth leading scorer all-time with 113 points. "Owen made himself a legend, and history will never forget what he did to help carry us to the state title in 2023. He was a great leader, but much more, an incredible kid with untouchable heart/fire inside of him" said Coach Jung of Zikowski. Owen continued his playing career at UW Steven's Point after graduating from UGHS before transferring to UW River Falls (follow him HERE).
Name: Jackson Barber
Grad Year: 2023
Position: Forward
Accomplishments: Jackson was a 4-year varsity starter for the Broncos, captain of the squad as a senior and one of the greatest clutch players that Union Grove has had all-time. Jackson was a 1st Team All-Conference, 1st Team All-County forward in both his junior and senior seasons, breaking through as a senior in 2022 to become the first-ever Bronco to earn Southern Lakes Conference Player of the Year and the only the third Bronco to earn Racine County Player of the Year. He also became only the third Bronco to earn All-State, named honorable mention. Jackson sits among the Bronco's all-time leading scorers as well, but no player before is perhaps as "clutch" as Barber, scoring the game-winner in UG's first ever win over Delavan-Darien, scoring two massive goals in UG's conference title-winning and first-ever victory over Elkhorn, while also notching the only hat-trick in history over a top 5 ranked team, doing so at Brookfield Central in a 3-1 win. "Jackson was the perfect example of heart, never stopped, never quit, always put in work and you couple that with insane speed & athleticism, and he's certainly one of the best attackers this school has ever seen" commented Coach Jung about Barber. Jackson's older sister Megan is also a Bronco HOF'er. Jackson currently attends the University of Minnesota.
Name: Hayden McDougal
Grad Year: 2023
Position: Goalkeeper
Accomplishments: Hayden shocked the Broncos as a senior, converting from a field player during his first 3 Bronco seasons, to a 1st Team All-Conference winning goalkeeper as a senior. Hayden would earn 12 shutouts during a history-making campaign that saw the Broncos win their first-ever Southern Lakes Conference title as well as only their second-ever WIAA Regional title. Hayden would also earn 1st Team All-County during the 2022 season, making 73 saves overall on the year, including his best match in the aforementioned regional final vs. Westosha when he made 7 key stops during regulation and overtime, then stopping two penalties in the shootout to push UG to the championship. "Hayden is the success story that every young athlete should follow, he worked his butt off to prepare for his senior season, and all for an unknown... now he's our all-time leader in shutouts and a Hall of Famer. What an incredible story!" said Coach Jung of Hayden. Hayden currently attends UW Platteville.
Name: Ryan Petrovic
Grad Year: 2022
Position: Defender
Accomplishments: Ryan was a 4-year varsity starting centerback at UG, likely the greatest Bronco defender of all time. Standing 6'6" Ryan dominated the aerial game over the years, but was an incredibly well-rounded talent tallying 4 career goals and 5 assists. Ryan earned Honorable Mention in the Southern Lakes Conference and in Racine County as a freshman, followed by three consecutive 1st Team nods in both genres over his career. Ryan was runner-up for Conference Player of the Year as a senior but did earn the second-ever Racine County Player of the Year award, and earned Honorable Mention All-State as well (only the 2nd Bronco to earn the honor all-time). Ryan captained the squad in both his junior and senior seasons, being a part of nearly ever current Bronco soccer record including shutouts (8) and a WIAA Regional Title in 2018. "A team cannot go from good to great without being able to defend, and Ryan was the key ingredient that raised the level of the entire program... during his four years UG soccer has completely transformed and he's had everything to do with it" summarized Coach Jung about Petrovic. Ryan now attends the University of Wisconsin Parkside.
Name: Michael "Tank" Anderson
Grad Year: 2022
Position: Midfielder
Accomplishments: Tank was a 4-year varsity member for the Broncos, appearing in 46 career matches despite missing nearly his entire sophomore season with injury. Over the course of his career, Tank tallied 9 goals and 8 assists, but saved his best season for last, taking all UG set-pieces and dominating the midfield during his senior season to the tune of 8 goals (some of the spectacular variety) and 7 assists, earning him 1st Team All-Conference honors as well as a 1st All-Racine County nod. Tank was a captain in his final campaign, with his best match coming at #4 state-ranked Elkhorn where his set-pieces generated two goals while he scored one of his own (The Broncoes were one of only two teams to score 3 goals against Elkhorn in 2021). Tank was technically gifted, with an incredible ability to strike and deliver a ball with pace & pinpoint accuracy. "Tank should be an example for any future Bronco to follow, spending every day training on his own coming into his final season, which is why he was so dominant... what a great kid" commented Coach Jung. Tank continues his playing career at the University of Wisconsin Parkside (click HERE).
Name: Lane Anderson
Grad Year: 2022
Position: Defender/Mid
Accomplishments: Lane played four years of varsity soccer, starting in his final three seasons. Lane was known for his incredible athletic ability, strength, and unprecedented versatility. Lane is perhaps the only Bronco to have every played all ten field positions, scoring 4 career goals and 3 assists in his tenure at UG. Lane was one of the Bronco's leading scorers during a Covid-shortened 2020 season, before moving back into the UG back line during his senior season... shutting down the opponent's best attacking player. Lane earned 2nd Team All Conference and 2nd Team All County as a junior, adding an Honorable mention nod in both during his senior year. "Lane was the ultimate team player, took on any role, and job, and worked his tail off without complaint or question. You'll be hard-pressed to find a better athlete from our soccer program" said Jung about Anderson. Lane attends UW Platteville.
Name: Mitchell Curtin
Grad Year: 2022
Position: Goalkeeper
Accomplishments: Mitchell was a 4-year varsity starting goalkeeper for the Broncos, having amassed 58 starts in the UG nets over his career., while accumulating 276 saves (3rd all-time). Mitchell is second in the single season shutout record (8 shutouts in 2021, tied with Michael Polzin '18) and 1st in overall career shutouts with 17 all-time, and is the only 4-year varsity starting keeper in the history of the boys soccer program. Mitchell earned 1st Team All-Conference and 1st Team All-Racine County as a senior, putting together his best season as a Bronco while leading UG to their first-ever win over a top 5 ranked foe, a 2-1 victory over #3 Seymour. Mitchell was known for his heart and fearlessness in the UG nets, captaining the team during his senior year while leading both vocally and by example. "Mitchell poured his heart and soul into Bronco soccer, worked his butt off year after year to become a premier goalkeeper though the starting spot was always his... he deserves to be atop our goalkeeping leaderboards" said Coach Jung of Curtin. Mitchell has recently returned to UGHS to help as a goalkeeper coach.
Name: Ben Erickson
Grad Year: 2021
Position: Defender/Mid
Accomplishments: Ben was a 4-year varsity player, starting each of his final 3 seasons while captaining the squad as a senior. Ben began his career as a defender before transitioning into central midfield during his final season at UG. Ben earned 2nd-Team All-Conference during his senior year, leading the team in scoring while helping to push the Broncos back into the top half of the conference despite the Broncos having graduated a large class of seniors the year prior. All-Racine County selections were not made in the fall of 2020 due to a Covid shortened season, but Ben was likely to be on the 1st Team ballot in that regard as well. Ben was known for his dangerous "cuts" and for impressive ball-striking that included a 50-yard strike for a goal at Delavan as a junior and an impressive 30-yard volley from distance versus New Berlin Eisenhower as a senior. Ben recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin Lacrosse.
Name: Logan Farrington
Grad Year: 2020
Position: Forward
Accomplishments: Surely the greatest Bronco of all-time, Logan placed himself atop nearly every statistical leaderboard in UG soccer history during his 4-year varsity career. Logan was a 2-year captain and 4-year starter, scoring in his first career match as a freshman and never looking back while amassing 113 career goals and 49 assists totalling 275 career points (all of them are all-time bests). Logan became the first-ever Bronco to earn an All-State award as a senior while also making the first-team roster at the Senior Masonic All-Star game (played digitally in 2020 due to Covid), and was a three year 1st Team All-Conference and 1st Team All-Racine County selection, earning 2nd Team All-County as a freshman. Logan was also (at the time) the only Bronco in boys soccer to earn Racine County Player of the Year (2018) while leading the UG offense to its first-ever WIAA Regional title as well. "Logan is the player every coach, every program dreams of having... best player of all-time at this school, dominated high school soccer for four years and completely transformed soccer at UGHS" said Coach Jung about Farrington. Logan was also the leading scorer on a State Cup winning Bavarian team for club, and continued his career at UW-Milwaukee, becoming the first Bronco (boy or girl) to play at the Division 1 level. He wasn't done, however, joining the Ventura County Fusion in the USL League 2 and leading the league in scoring in 2023 before he transferred out west to play for the Beavers of Oregon St. University during his senior season, becoming their offensive player of the year while helping to lead them to their first-ever NCAA Final Four and a trip to the '23 College Cup. Impressed yet? Well Logan is perhaps just getting started, as he was drafted by FC Dallas in the first round of the MLS professional soccer draft (3rd overall pick) in 2024, becoming the first-ever Bronco to play soccer at the highest level. He's currently in his second season with the club, follow Logan's career (HERE).
Name: Christian Lentz
Grad Year: 2020
Position: Defender/Mid
Accomplishments: Christian was a 4-year varsity starter and 2-year captain as a Bronco. Christian played in the Bronco back line as a freshman before moving into midfield (his natural position) as a sophomore, but was called back into the UG defense as a junior and senior playing centerback. Christian helped the Broncos earn over 25 shutouts during those 4 years, good enough to earn him three straight 1st-Team All-Conference and 1st Team All-Racine County awards from his sophomore to senior seasons. "Christian invested his whole heart and soul into this team and this program, what an incredible leader stepping up to do whatever it took to help us be successful" commented Coach Jung on Christian. Lentz was a key member of a State Cup winning Bavarian team for club as well, and continued his soccer playing career at Macalester College in Minnesota before injuries cut his college career short.
Name: Sawyer Richardson
Grad Year: 2020
Position: Midfielder
Accomplishments: Sawyer was a 4-year letter-winner, 3-year starter and 2-year captain during his tenure at UGHS. Sawyer finished his career with 83 total points, including 30 goals and 23 assists despite spending time in the Bronco back line as a freshman and sophomore. Sawyer earned 1st Team All-Conference and 1st Team All-Racine County awards for three-consecutive years from 2017-'19, while shattering nearly every Bronco fitness mark including fastest 100m (10.34s) and fastest 40yd dash (4.51s). "Sawyer was incredible, lightening fast coupled with unparalleled athleticism... as he grew so did his soccer ability until he became an unstoppable force on the pitch. First-class character, first-class ability, and a first-class kid" summarized Coach Jung. Sawyer was a member of a State Cup winning Bavarian club soccer team, and continued his soccer career at UW-Platteville before graduating in 2024.
Name: Cole Anderson
Grad Year: 2018
Position: Forward
Accomplishments: Cole was a 3-year letter-winner and 2-year varsity starter, captaining the team in his senior season. Cole made tremendous growth over the course of his career, culminating in a record-breaking senior season that saw him score 29 goals (2nd best all-time) with 8 assists, good for 66 points (4th best all-time). Those efforts earned him 2nd Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All-Racine County in 2017 as he was an integral part of a 15 win season. "Cole was all heart, all go, all of the time... he led by example with his determination and shear will to win" summarized Coach Jung regarding Cole. Cole graduated from UW Platteville in 2022 with a mechanical engineering degree.
Name: Michael Polzin
Grad Year: 2018
Position: Goalkeeper
Accomplishments: Michael was a 3-year varsity member and 2-year starter donning the UG nets for every single match of the 2016 & 2017 seasons. Michael broke the single-season shutout record in both his junior and senior seasons with 8 each year, for a record-breaking total of 16 that was only recently surpassed. Michael earned 2nd Team All-Racine County and Honorable Mention All Conference as a junior, followed up with 1st Team All Conference and All County in his senior campaign. Michael was known for his incredible shot-stopping ability, demonstrated in several key wins including a 1-0 victory at Waukesha South in 2016 that saw him make 16 saves in the game, 3 in the final minute. Michael graduated from UW Parkside in 2022.
Name: Max Wagner
Grad Year: 2017
Position: Forward
Accomplishments: Max was a 4-year varsity starter and captain his senior year. He earned 2nd Team All-County and 2nd Team All-Conference as a junior, while earning 1st Team All County as a senior. Max finished his career with 30 goals, including 17 in his final season, an integral part of a UGHS team that set records at the time in both wins (11) and goals scored (51). Max always led by example as a fierce competitor, keeping a rocket of a right leg in the midst to stalk any opposing goaltender. Coach Jung called Max "a first-class kid who improved every year he played." Max graduated from the University of Minnesota.
Name: Colin Killberg
Grad Year: 2017
Position: Defender
Accomplishments: Colin was another 4-year varsity starter, playing midfield as a freshman before becoming a dominant figure in the UG backline in his final three years. Colin was a 2-year captain, earning 2nd Team All-Conference and 2nd Team All County in his senior season. Colin also scored 8 career goals as a defender, which is the most all-time for a UG backline player. Colin was the focal point in a record-setting defense in 2016 as the Broncos lost the fewest games at that point in history (8), surrendered the fewest goals (39), and posted the most shutouts (8). "Colin will be missed, of course for his talent and ability on the field, but as much if not more for his leadership, character, and contribution(s) off the field" said Coach Jung of Killberg. Colin continued his career at Wisconsin Lutheran College and currently works as a chef in Wauwatosa.
Name: Ian Kramer
Grad Year: 2016
Position: Defender
Accomplishments: Ian was a 4-year varsity starter and 3-year captain. Earning 2nd Team All County and All Conference as a sophomore, followed by 1st Team All County and All Conference awards during his junior and senior campaigns, Ian may be the most talented Bronco historically. Ian was a dominant centerback during his tenure, and until 2017 he the only Bronco defender in history to earn 1st Team awards in both the Southern Lakes Conference and Racine County. Ian was exceptional in the air with an elite first touch, while scoring 4 goals during his senior year to demonstrate the depth of his game. "Ian was the key ingredient to changing this entire program, he's one of the biggest reasons we're relevent today" summarized Coach Jung. Ian is continued his soccer career in Iowa at Waldorf College, returned to intern as a physical trainer for UGHS in 2020 after graduating. Ian currently works as an athletic trainer at Franklin HS
Name: Hayden Howard
Grad Year: 2016
Position: Goalkeeper
Accomplishments: Hayden was a 3-year varsity starter, captain his senior year, setting the standard for UGHS goalkeeping during his time. Hayden was technically excellent, known for his impressive shot-stopping ability, Hayden recorded nearly 400 saves in his career (good for 2nd all-time) and once held every UG soccer shutout record including most in a season (7) and most in a career (13). Hayden was 2nd Team All Conference in both his junior and senior year's in high school, as well as earning 2nd Team All County as a senior. Coach Jung called Hayden "by far the best keeper we've ever had, but an even better kid." Hayden went on to play one season at Doane College in Nebraska before transferring to UW Parkside back home in Wisconsin, and is currently coaching both club and high school teams in Wisconsin and northern Illinois with heavy involvement in the Racine USL Club RKC Third Coast (HERE).
Name: Daniel Rivera
Grad Year: 2015
Position: Midfielder
Accomplishments: Daniel was a 4-year varsity starter, 2-year captain, playing centerback early in his career before moving into attacking positions. Daniel had phenomenal junior and senior seasons, scoring 8 goals with 2 assists in 2013 earning him 2nd Team All Conference and honorable mention All County awards, followed-up by 4 goals and 7 assists as a senior good for 1st Team All Conference and 2nd Team All County. For his career, Danny had 15 goals and 12 assists. Coach Jung called Danny "an amazing talent with unparalleled heart and athleticism." Daniel went on to continue his soccer career at Millikin University.
Name: Nick Jaworski
Grad Year: 2015
Position: Forward
Accomplishments: Nick was a 4-year varsity starter, 2-year captain, playing both forward and midfield positions throughout his career. Nick had an impressive 11 goal, 11 assist season as a junior, good for 2nd Team All Conference and All County, but shattered records as a senior. Nick scored 25 goals and tacked on 5 assists in 2014 (55pts), standing atop the UG soccer goal scoring and total point leaderboards until 2017. His incredible senior year earned him 1st Team All Conference and All County nominations. and Nick's name will likely sit among UG leaders for a long time. "Nick helped to change the entire program... such a great player and an even better kid" summarized Coach Jung. Nick pursued a football kicking career after high school, spending a year at Mississippi St. before becoming a Minnesota Golden Gopher. Nick played a season with the Twin City Sabercats in the CAFL in 2020, before earning Special Teams Player of the Year for the Green Bay Blizzard in 2022 in the Indoor Football League. Most recently Nick completed the 2023 season kicking for the Sioux Falls Storm.
Name: Eddie Neubauer
Grad Year: 2014
Position: Goalkeeper
Accomplishments: Eddie was a 3-year starting varsity keeper, electing to pursue a professional snocross career at the start of his senior campaign. Eddie shattered the single season saves record as a sophomore with 132, and then smashed his own record as a junior recorded 193 saves in 2012. Eddie earned honorable mention All-Racine County in 2011 while earning honorable mention Southern Lakes Conference and 2nd-Team All-Racine County during his junior year in 2012. Eddie can now be found racing for the Goodwin Performance Snocross team on his Ski-Doo (#747) all across the country.
Name: Adam Filz
Grad Year: 2013
Position: Forward/Mid
Accomplishments: Adam was a 4-year varsity starter for the Broncos playing both forward and midfielder. Over the course of his career, Adam scored 17 goals and recorded 10 assists, good for 44 points. Adam was known for his unparalleled athleticism, running a 4.4 second 40-yard dash his senior year, another Bronco record. Adam scored 8 goals and 4 assists in the fall of 2012 earning him 2nd-Team All Southern Lakes Conference, he was also honorable mention All Racine County that year while earning an honorable mention in the Southern Lakes Conference as a junior. Adam was also a 1st team baseball player at UG, but pursued soccer and joined the UGHS boys soccer coaching staff from 2015-'17. Adam can now be found coaching with AFC Union in Racine and competing in cross-fit competitions throughout the midwest.
Name: Trevor Welch
Grad Year: 2011
Position: Forward
Accomplishments: Trevor for a long while was perhaps the most talented, pure soccer player in UGHS history, scoring goals on a regular basis against all opponents, including a hat-trick his senior year versus Southern Lakes Conference Champ Badger in 2010. Trevor held the UG soccer record in career goals (43), in career points (109), and in career assists (23) until just recently. He was nominated 2nd-Team all-conference both his junior and senior years, and became the first Bronco in boys soccer history to be named to the Racine All-County 1st-team his senior year as well. Trevor went on to play at MATC following his UGHS career.
Name: Zach Dam
Grad Year: 2011
Position: Midfielder
Accomplishments: Zach was a 4-year letter winner, 3-year varsity starter, nominated team MVP in both his junior and senior seasons. Zach was also nominated 2nd-team All Southern Lakes Conference his junior year while making 1st-team (senior year) while earning 2nd-team All Racine County honors in both years as well. Former coach Gregg Anderle called Zach the best athlete he'd ever coached. Zach held the UG boys soccer record for assists in one season (11 in '10) until 2017 and still sits near the top of the career assists board (23); additionally he remains on the leaderboard for all-time total points with 53pts. Zach was a top ten student academically as well, setting the standard of expecations for our soccer players here at Union Grove High School. Zach was also a stand-out tennis player at UGHS, again a 4-time letter winner in the sport, an endeavor he continued to pursue at MSOE as he captained their men's tennis team for 4 years. Zach was also a member of the UG boys soccer coaching staff from 2016-2018.
Name: Ben Roettgen
Grad Year: 2010
Position: Midfielder
Accomplishments: Ben was a 4-year varsity letter winner and a 3-year varsity starting midfielder for the Broncos. Ben earned 2nd-team All Southern Lakes Conference honors as a senior, honorable mention as a junior, while also being named 2nd-team All Racine County in both his final years as well. Ben scored 26 goals and recorded 9 assists in his career, good for 61pts. Former coach Gregg Anderle called Ben an "elite" player with an impressive desire to win." Ben has returned to his stomping ground and is currently a PE Teacher and head boys varsity basketball coach at UGHS.
