The Symphonic Band (also known as concert band) meets during the school day throughout the year as a class. The band performs a Winter and Spring concert, and travels to various festivals in the Spring. Symphonic Band is the core of the band program where students develop instrument technique. Most instrumentalists in the Marching Band take this as a course during their 9th grade year. Call the Allentown High School guidance department to enroll!

Symphonic Band takes place during the school day as a class! If you have made your high school schedule already, all you need to do is call the AHS guidance department and ask them to enroll you in the class. Most students are part of the class all 4 years and are still able to take a full load of foreign language classes, AP/Honors Classes and many are part of the National Honor Society. If you want to continue your instrument into High School, we recommend taking this class at minimum during your 9th grade year. Don’t take a year off from playing!
