Support

We need your help!

How can you support our team?

  1. Host an event workshop or team project, at your site or ours

  2. Co-coach team members in your area of expertise

  3. Donate to our team fund and sponsor our student competitors

To work with the team or for any other questions please contact team coach Erin Alvarez.
Donors will be recognized on our team shirts and in our team updates.

A letter to our supporters:

The National Association of Landscape Professionals (NALP) hosts an annual 3-day competition that is often described as the Horticultural Olympics for students. This international event is an invaluable opportunity for our landscape and horticulture students to further their understanding of the industry, interview for internships and permanent jobs, and meet students from landscape programs in other parts of the country. The department has been competing at this event since 2006, and after a few years’ hiatus we are happy to tell you the Gators are back and ready to compete! This coming March the University of Florida Landscape Team will compete at the annual NALP competition and your support is essential to our students’ success.

Many of our green industry professionals were once competitors at this event and can tell you how valuable this experience is not only for our students’ learning, but also for their future opportunities as industry professionals and leaders. The team is eager to compete, but we can’t do it without support from businesses like yours. The UF Landscape team would like to invite you to support our team. Anything you can give will go a long way. We have two opportunities for you to join an elite group of sponsors dedicated to enhancing the future of landscape industry:

  1. Individuals/companies can work with our students at workshops to prepare for specific events, offer to coach our team in a particular area (sales, paving, landscape maintenance, arboriculture, irrigation, etc.), or sponsor a workshop through a financial donation.

  2. Donating funds to sponsor travel. Our expenses are hotel, registration, and airfare, and the estimated cost per student is around $1,500

Supporters may choose to have their company name or logo on the team’s competition t-shirts, and at your request the team will be available for meetings with company representatives. If you are interested in sponsoring the Gator Landscape team, please contact us to find out how you can work with our students, or complete and return the enclosed donation form.

Please don’t hesitate to contact us with questions or for more information. Thank you for investing in the education of future horticulture and landscape professionals. We appreciate your support of our program.

Sincerely,
