The Graduate Program in Literature (PPGL) relies on scholarship quotas from the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES), aiming to keep students fully dedicated to course activities.
Currently, the Program has the following DS/CAPES scholarship quotas:
- 20 Master's scholarships + 2 Master's scholarships (CAPES Loan Quota)
- 42 Doctoral scholarships
The Graduate Program in Literature (PPGL) Scholarship Committee is responsible, within the PPGL, for awarding and distributing CAPES master's and doctoral scholarships.
In addition to the rules established by CAPES, the PPGL Scholarship Committee awards scholarships based on the following criteria:
I - number of Master's and Doctoral quotas made available to the program annually by CAPES;
II - distribution of scholarships by line of research;
III - order of classification of students in the scholarship selection process of the program governed by a specific notice; IV - Score obtained on the PPGL Socioeconomic Questionnaire

CAPES SCHOLARSHIP HOLDER TABLE FOR THE PPGL - MASTER'S DEGREE
Its objective is to support institutional projects for scientific, technological, and innovation research through the awarding of master's and doctoral scholarships in Brazil to Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) and Scientific, Technological, and Innovation Institutions (STIs). The Call will award 2,777 scholarships—1,648 master's scholarships and 1,129 doctoral scholarships—to 168 HEIs and STIs, totaling approximately R$277 million. These figures represent an increase of 1,000 new graduate scholarships—400 master's scholarships and 600 doctoral scholarships—granted under the Institutional Graduate Scholarship Program (PIBPG).

O Programa Institucional de Pós-Doutorado tem como objetivo a promoção da realização de estudos de excelência em alto nível, o reforço dos grupos de pesquisa nacionais e a promoção da inserção de pesquisadores em estágio pós-doutoral, estimulando sua integração com projetos de pesquisa desenvolvidos pelos programas de pós-graduação no país. Além disso, o PIPD busca promover o aperfeiçoamento de doutores por meio da atuação no ensino e na pesquisa e da internacionalização dos programas de pós-graduação incentivando a realização de estágio pós-doutoral no exterior.
Histórico:
A Portaria CAPES Nº 282, de 4 de Setembro de 2024 institui e regulamenta o Programa Institucional de Pós-Doutorado – PIPD.
A Portaria CAPES Nº 307, de 24 de Setembro dispõe sobre os critérios para distribuição de bolsas no âmbito do referente ao período de outubro de 2024 a setembro de 2027.
Elegibilidade
Será concedida 1 (uma) bolsa na modalidade Pós-Doutorado a cada PPG avaliado pela CAPES com as seguintes características:
I - notas 6 ou 7 em todo o território nacional;
II - nota 5 localizados na região Norte;
III - nota 5 localizados em municípios com Índice de Desenvolvimento Humano Municipal – IDHM inferior a 0,750, nas regiões Nordeste, Centro-Oeste, Sul e Sudeste.

The Institutional Postdoctoral Program aims to promote high-level, excellent studies, strengthen national research groups, and promote the inclusion of researchers in postdoctoral internships, encouraging their integration into research projects developed by Brazilian graduate programs. Furthermore, the PIPD seeks to promote the development of doctoral graduates through teaching and research activities and the internationalization of graduate programs by encouraging postdoctoral internships abroad.
Background
CAPES Ordinance No. 282, of September 4, 2024, establishes and regulates the Institutional Postdoctoral Program (PIPD). CAPES Ordinance No. 307, of September 24, establishes the criteria for the distribution of scholarships for the period from October 2024 to September 2027.
Eligibility
One (1) postdoctoral scholarship will be awarded to each graduate program evaluated by CAPES with the following characteristics:
I - scores of 6 or 7 nationwide;
II - scores of 5 located in the North region;
III - scores of 5 located in municipalities with a Municipal Human Development Index (HDI) below 0.750, in the Northeast, Central-West, South, and Southeast regions.
